Soay's are a rare breed of sheep that are on the at risk list on the RBST watch list, Soay’s are a primitive breed of sheep that naturally self shreds its wool each year which is ideal for hand knitting. Soay’s take their name from the island of Soay in the St. Kilda group, where there is still a wild population.
